HOS (Hands on Science)

Triad students become researchers, delving into detailed projects that ignite their curiosity and develop investigative skills through a hands-on,
inquiry based science instructional system for K-8 science.

Teach children scientific concepts and critical-thinking skills by exploring the natural world

Balance hands-on experiments with the systematic study of terms and concepts in life, earth, and physical sciences

Triad students learn science with understanding and observation

Triad encourages students to ask questions, research, seek answers, make qualitative observations and discuss answers

Hands-on Science (HOS) encourages learning by doing. This form of education encourages children to experience science by participating in experiments. This allows the child to take facts learned in books and places it in their real world, physical space. It is one thing to read about a theory, it’s another to prove it. In HOS the children work in 4 week units. Each week the process builds on itself, taking a complex concept and breaking it down into a fun and exciting project. In teaching science, HOS benefits the child by allowing them to engage in a multilevel learning experience, while reveling in the joy and excitement of making things happen. The children get to create and explore with their hands, then see the results of their own work. This encourages learning by doing.
