Custom Learning

Custom Learning

We use a custom curriculum that is flexible and adaptive.

The design of the classroom
takes into account developmental
stages and expected educational
outcomes. This allows our teachers
to appropriately challenge each
individual student.

Today’s education serves the needs of the many, not the needs of the individual. At Triad we make learning personal.

Students Learning

Custom Curriculum

A curriculum describes what students will be expected to learn by the end of school year. A custom curriculum describes a tailored set of expectations for a student based on individual abilities.

At Triad we believe each student is unique. We make learning personal. We use a custom curriculum that is flexible and adaptive. It allows students to learn at their own pace and ability. Our custom curriculum, small class sizes and individual attention supports this approach.

What is Custom Learning

Triad’s small class sizes and experienced teachers make it possible to better understand the individual learning needs of each student. Our teachers employ traditional techniques, like the use of textbooks and workbooks, to create custom learning paths for each student. In addition to traditional techniques, Triad uses a web-based learning program from Compass Learning to support the curriculum

and continually assess students’ progress. Twice a year students are also assessed using the Woodcock Johnson Achievement Test.  This test compares the student to national norms.  Unlike most academic assessments this test compare students by grade level and age.  We use these two tests to help Triad provide a custom learning path for each student.

Social

We believe students require more from school than simply providing challenging curriculum. Knowing how to interact with peers and understanding one’s self is an important life skill, but is not often taught in a classroom.

Navigate Social Situations

Triad teaches students how to communicate more clearly with those around them in a respectful and productive way.

Academic

With Custom Learning’s multi-dimensional assessment and prescribed personalized learning paths, teachers can address the needs of each and every student in the classroom, including gifted and talented, and high-achieving students.

Multi-dimensional assessment

Our classrooms are not limited by grade level boundaries. The design of the classroom takes into account developmental stages and expected educational outcomes. This allows our teachers to appropriately challenge each individual student.

Environment

The design of the classroom takes into account developmental stages and expected educational outcomes. This allows our teachers to appropriately challenge each individual student.

Triad's Academic Environment

Triad School’s goal is to create an academic environment where children can delve into their own interests in greater depths. Students will use these interests to learn and practice foundational skills. These skills will be the building blocks for their educational career.
